The Basics

Overall, how satisfied are you with this program?

Response Avg # Responders

0 = Terrible, 10 = World Class

What do you like most?

"Professors are super approachable and open. Each professor really takes your input to heart and changes the coursework for the classes, and gives feedback to the next class on what was changed. It gets annoying receiving "required evals" from the school, but it really does help build for the future classes. The equipment for OPP is STELLAR and the videos/techniques are being incorporated to schools across the nation. This school is even pioneering other medical schools in that department and the staff are actually well known in the field. There were no expenses wasted in the school and everything is top-notch, school-of-the-future." | Report Response

What do you like least?

"Some of the OPP department are very.... non-lenient to any issues going on and often do off the wall questions for exams. Finances are out of our control due to it being pre-accreditation and not eligible for federal funding until 2022. when the first class graduates. Research is semi limited due to some of the local hospitals being "anti-DO" but most are starting to come around to it." | Report Response

How do students from this program do after graduation - are they adequately prepared for practice?

"They have got stellar reviews from rotations, but it is noted that writing skills are lacking. However, the 2nd and 1st year classes are taking this into account and the curriculum is adjusting accordingly" | Report Response

What are rotations like?

"Most of them have to travel to the surrounding region, but that's mentioned in the school's mission. You will have to most likely move, or at least return to Boise for 1 month of the year from rotations, unless your site has all the specialties." | Report Response

How do students from this program do in the Match?

"Hasn't matched anyone yet." | Report Response

Any other information you want to share?

"Really is an amazing school for being so new. Many schools are using ICOM's curriculum, videos, and policies into their own school. OPP/OMT curriculum is great, the staff gives a lot of feedback and ways to improve, and the students are not "Gunners" (at least in our class). Everyone, staff included is more than happy to go out of their way to help you and really make you feel at home. The student-sponsorship is a lot of fun as well. It really helps the first year students get to know their mentor and how to adjust to the school." | Report Response
