School Info

The goals of the program are to produce graduates who: 1) possess the preventive, diagnostic, and technical knowledge and skills necessary to provide patients with comprehensive dental health in a variety of health care delivery systems; 2) view their role in the profession from a humanitarian perspective, accepting patients' dental health as a right rather than a privilege, their patients' psychological and physical health being the prime focus of their practices; 3) are able to provide socially sensitive and responsible leadership in the community of their practice; and 4) continuously update their knowledge of dental health and oral diseases, their techniques, and their practices. The school participates in the Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education (WICHE).

Curriculum

The basic science and preclinical laboratory courses are taught primarily in the first 2 years of the curriculum by the appropriate departments/divisions of the medical and dental school. Facilities

The off-campus clinical rotations that are an official part of the curriculum are at: Wilson-Jennings-Bloomfield Venice Dental Center and Harbor/UCLA Medical Center.

I would say that my interviewer, who was one of the group practice administrators, did not really review my AADSAS application. The questions that came up were all based on the essay that I wrote at the start of the day. I wrote about my job as I'm a nontraditional applicant. In the essay I stated leadership was forced on me and she asked what I meant by that." More from this Member | Report Response

About the LizzyM Score

LizzyM, SDN Moderator and medical school admissions committee member, is the inventor of the LizzyM Score. The score allows you to see if you are a competitive applicant at a given school. If your LizzyM Score is far below or above the average, you may not be a good fit. If your score is far below, your application may be screened out due to numerical cutoffs. If it is far above, the school may assume they are your “safety” school and that you won’t attend if they offer an acceptance. This score should be used only as a guide to help you select schools and is not a guarantee of acceptance at any school. If you use this as your sole criteria to select medical schools to apply to, you don’t deserve to get in anyway.
