"I feel that the tour could have been better. I would have liked to tour the entire campus (nonmedical buildings). I believe that WCUCOM is unique because they have Undergrad/Grad programs, school sports, etc and they should talk about it during the interview. I also would have liked a more detailed presentation about our clinical years. WCU-COM uses a hub system, so students do not have to move a lot, but I would've liked detailed information about the hospitals (XYZ Hospital, XYZ beds, XYZ services, etc). I do not think the tour/presentation showed the school as best as it could have. (I liked the school, but the presentation could be improved)." More from this Member | Report Response

What do you like least about this school?

"Cost" | Report Response

"Poorly organized. Leadership is most concerned about profits over students. Professors are from undergraduate rather than medical schools. School is satisfied with poor pass rates. No direction in 3rd and 4th years. Rotations are often in slow areas where little experience is gained." | Report Response

"Mandatory attendance (80%), passing score of 450 on COMSAE in order to pass entire 2nd year and even take the COMLEX, only 1 currently practicing physician (all others have been retired for 5+ years), no affiliated hospital or free clinic." | Report Response

"The fact that we spend over 31 hours a week in class with a mandatory attendance policy." | Report Response

Please provide any other general comments on your school

"Undervalued school" | Report Response

"Overall, I am very impressed with the education that I am receiving. With my class only being the 2nd class, there are definite "growing pains" but that is to be expected. I think we have a great school." | Report Response

About the LizzyM Score

LizzyM, SDN Moderator and medical school admissions committee member, is the inventor of the LizzyM Score. The score allows you to see if you are a competitive applicant at a given school. If your LizzyM Score is far below or above the average, you may not be a good fit. If your score is far below, your application may be screened out due to numerical cutoffs. If it is far above, the school may assume they are your “safety” school and that you won’t attend if they offer an acceptance. This score should be used only as a guide to help you select schools and is not a guarantee of acceptance at any school. If you use this as your sole criteria to select medical schools to apply to, you don’t deserve to get in anyway.
