"There are a number of housing options available, many of which are within walking distance of the school. Others are located in the more vibrant downtown, and students also live in the surrounding suburbs 15 minutes away (Royal Oak, Ferndale, Madison Heights, Southfield, etc. ) Housing prices are definitely rising as of late due to the popularity of moving downtown, but are still significantly lower than other major cities. Nice 1 bedrooms range from $600-$1,000. 2 bedrooms around $1,000-$1,600. "Depends on the rotation. As an example in Internal medicine patients are usually required to carry 1 or 2 patients. They are expected to act as the primary provider for the patient. This includes pre-rounding on the patient, writing the note, putting in orders (pended orders in EPIC), presenting the patient on rounds, and signing out to the next shift. Obviously everything you do is run by the resident first, but being put in charge of every aspect of patient care is extremely beneficial in learning what its like to operate as a resident.
