What impressed you positively?

"The diversity, the clinics weren't half bad (better than what i expected), their research program, and the fact that they were consistently ranked 2 or 3 in terms of clinical preparation among all dental schools in the US. The students there were REALLY friendly and were very open to talk about UCSF's strengths and weaknesses. " Report Response

What impressed you negatively?

"Just a wee bit unorganized. The man leading us to meeting room didn't know exactly where it was. During my interview, my interviewer asked me what my gpa and DAT's were even though I thought it was a closed file interview. Also, my faculty interviewer had the personality of a dead fish. He wouldn't really smile at all and he didn't give me much feedback on my answers to his questions. I asked him later why he became a dentist and he told me he was a researcher and then I was like "no wonder". i'm not saying all research people are boring and have no personality. it just made sense to me..." What are your general comments?

"Overall, it was a great experience. I was impressed by a lot of the stuff I mentioned before. I came out thinking that UCSF was a really well-rounded school. It has good research programs, a good patient pool, good academics (as displayed by their national board scores), and the people there were really friendly. I was told about one third of the students go on to specialize and for some reason I feel that that's how it should be. Not too many and not too little. " Report Response
